Come and be part of our dedicated team as a Complimentary Therapist Volunteer. We are looking for friendly, confident, and enthusiastic people to volunteer with us and give their time at the Lodge. In this role you will provide a valuable service by supporting staff to ensure the effective and safe provision of a Complementary Therapy Service to people with cancer and their carers attending the centre.

You will need to hold at least a Level 2 qualification in massage, reflexology or reiki and have at least one year post-qualification experience. You must hold your own indemnity insurance and preferably be registered with an official governing body.

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, they help enhance our patient and visitor experience. You will be volunteering to support staff to ensure the effective and safe provision of a Complementary Therapy Service to people with cancer and their carers attending the centre.

What you will be doing
  • Enhancing the range of services at the Cancer Support Centre to reflect its holistic philosophy of care that the complementary therapies are provided safely by trained practitioners who are aware of the clinical and psychological issues that people with cancer and their families may have
  • Promoting a sense of relaxation and wellbeing for patients and carers
  • Ensuring the complementary therapists work within safe guidelines

  • Improve the patient experience
  • Level 2 or above qualification in massage, reflexology or reiki along with at least one year post-qualification experience
