These placements are designed for pupils who are just finishing year 12 and will be applying through UCAS to medical schools in Autumn 2024. Applicants must live or go to school in the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire area.

Work Experience Details

North Bristol Trust are offering 36 three-day work observation placements in  summer  2024 at Southmead hospital for school and college pupils. These placements are designed for pupils who are just finishing year 12 and will be applying through UCAS to medical schools in Autumn 2024.
The program involves a three-day placement to observe the work of various departments within the hospital. This will be based at Southmead hospital and involve exposure to a variety of hospital specialties. These placements allow participants to meet medical students, doctors, and other members of the healthcare team to learn about what a career in medicine entails.
Please be advised that places on this program are extremely competitive and we cannot guarantee places for any applicants. Success will depend on the quality of the application. If you are unsuccessful, we will have a short waiting list and we will offer you a place on the Pathways to Medicine Conference.
